New Triumph Sprint ST 06-May-2004

I arrive at Branchville Motors to pick up my new Triumph Sprint ST. I see it sitting at the back door so without talking to anyone I go over and check it out.

After a bit of looking here and there, I sit on it and start getting nervous looks from the mechanics inside. I explained that it was my bike and they relaxed a bit.

View from the left rear of the bike. The top of the tank is covered with warnings about what to do and not to do. Gotta peel them off as soon as I get home.

Right rear. The exhaust is adjusted low to make room for the side bags.

It looks a little strange with just a top bag but the side bags weren't ready. Triumph makes the dealer assemble them and it's pretty time consuming.

Back in the office I have to sign a ton of DMV paperwork. Thus, the bike becomes mine.

Sign, here, here, here and here and initial this saying that you agree that the bike has two miles on it.

Alex Gifford the owner of Branchville motors explaining that these new fangled bikes don't have a choke. I can deal with that!

Engine is running and its time for me to hit the road. It's a strange feeling, I feel like I need someone's permission to actually leave.

Putting on gear. The leathers were a Christmas present and aren't really my style but they sure beat jeans and a tee shirt. They happen to match the bike pretty well too.

Get the helmet strap on and I'm good to go.

I'm sitting at a traffic light on RT7 in Georgetown Connecticut and Alex Valente snaps a pic without me knowing it.
